The week began with a tiyul to Sderot and Netivot on Sunday. We spent the day visiting the people of those communities, repairing bomb-shelters, seeing the Kassam rocket museum, and the Hesder Yeshiva in Sderot. The area is incredibly beautiful and is a section of Israel that many of our boys had never seen. The guys gained a true appreciation of the proximity of the enemy and the lifestyle that that entails. They realized how important it is to show our support for these wonderful communities.

Monday's Yom Iyun on “Life on the Secular College Campus” was a big success. We spoke about ways in which attending a secular campus can pose difficult challenges to religious students and the methods one must develop to battle some of the negative influences. The students read reports from our alumni about the real day-to-day issues that they face which sparked many open and honest conversations about the fears and the excitement that awaits them over the next several years.

On Wednesday night, we had a Va'ad with Rabbis Reichel, Mann, and Shimon. As usual for Va'ad, the guys enjoyed their time, the singing,
and the divrei Torah. It's a very special time, and some of the guys
chose to stay later to enjoy more time with the Rabbeim.

Thursday night's Mishmar was very well attended and was sponsored in memory of Mr. Herman Mitnick, z.l. by his family. After some tremendous learning,we were treated to pizza from Pizza Hut. It was a big hit!

This Shabbat is another out Shabbat for the Yeshiva.
