This week at Shvilei was a short one, as we welcomed the guys back from a fantastic break. Many of the guys took full advantage of their vacations as they spent time hiking, touring, going to concerts, and just enjoying some free time in Israel.
Wednesday night we welcomed Rabbi Tabasky, from HaSofer, to the Yeshiva to talk about tefillin and the secrets of the Hebrew alphabet. Rabbi Tabasky explained to us how tefillin are made and how to appreciate their value. Many of the talmidim have used this opportunity to have their tefillin checked by an outstanding Sofer. Rabbi Tabasky’s presentation, as always, was very enlightening.
Thursday night we started our regular Mishmar program, with Cholent as the midnight snack. Though optional, Mishmar was still very well attended with a Kol Torah emanating from the Beit Midrash all night long.
This Shabbat is a Staff Shabbat – a special weekend where the guys are split into groups and spend Shabbat in their Rabbanim’s homes spread throughout our wonderful medina. This Shabbat has been eagerly anticipated by many and provides the guys with a chance to get to know their Rabbis on a more personal basis.
We welcome our boys back with a sense of anticipation of the wonderful zman that awaits us all.
Shabbat shalom!
