As winter break continues for the colleges in the U.S., we are delighted to welcome back our alumni who have taken their vacation time to spend some time back at their home in Yerushalayim. It is always wonderful to see them and spend quality time with them.
We were also honored to have a group of potential future students visit the Yeshiva this week as Rav Abramcczik and a group of guys from YULA paid a visit.
Rav Reichel gave his weekly sicha, this time on inyanei d’yoma of celebrating the secular New Year. According to his sicha, the problem would seem to be celebrating things that go directly against our Jewish values.
At our Wednesday evening sicha, we were delighted to welcome back Dr. Bernstein of the Pardes Institute. Dr. Bernstein reviewed one thousand years of Polish history in just and hour. To truly appreciate the magnitude of the Holocaust we must understand the greatness that was the Polish Jewish community. It was a beacon of Jeweish learning fro hundreds of year before Hiteler came to power. Its greatness was destroyed in six years and nothing remains of that great culture.
This Shabbat is a Shabbaton in Efrat. The talmidim are being housed with community members. They will meet the community , converse with Rabanim and get a chance to see what living in Efrat is really like.
Shabbat Shalom!
