It was a very emotional week at the yeshiva as we had the honor and pleasure of welcoming many of our Shvilei parents as they came for a visit during winter break. It was great to meet them and the boys really were very happy to see all of you!
Our tiyul/chessed this week was scheduled to be tree planting in honor of Tu b’Shvat, but, baruch Hashem, it was cancelled due to rain. I can think of no better reason to have tree planting cancelled than a rain-out. We have re-scheduled the tree planting for another time.
We had a visit this week from a world renowned speaker and scientist – Dr. Gerald Schroeder. Speaking to us about “Evolution and the Age of the Universe”, Dr. Schroeder literally left us speechless after showing how the scientific age of the universe fits exactly with the Creation saga as described in Bereshit. All who were in attendance would agree that it was a very memorable sicha.
This Shabbat is an out Shabbat. While many talmidim are going away, a large group will be staying in Jerusalem in order to rest up in preparation of our tiyul on Monday.
Shabbat Shalom!
