On Sunday afternoon after Mincha, Dr. Raphael Jospe (Darlene's husband) gave a shiur clalli to the Yeshiva in memory of Darlene's father. Dr. Jospe presented a very special shiur on the significance of Jerusalem in Judaism. This timely sicha was enlightening, engaging, and entertaining and it was truly a merit to Darlene's father's memory.
Rabbi Alex Israel from Nefesh b'Nefesh spoke to us on Monday about the programs and assistance that they, as an organization for new olim, can provide. NBN has been very effective in helping our new citizens since learning a new country, a new language, and navigating through the bureaucracy can all be veryintimidating. It is very helpful to have people that are there to help you with whatever you need.
Rabbi Jacobson led the Wednesday night sicha slot this week, with a presentation on life on the college campus. This sicha served as an introduction to our next Yom Iyun dealing exclusively which will take place in two weeks and will concentrate on the boys’ future at their college campuses.
This Shabbat is the last staff Shabbat of the year. These Shabbatot have been great throughout the year and will be missed by the talmidim and the Rabbanim alike.
On Sunday we will have a special Lag b’Omer bonfire which will preced a great tiyul to Nachal Og and a cookout at the Dead Sea.
