Our scheduled tiyul to Nachal Og was postponed this week due to the appearance of some unseasonal rain, and the possibility of flash floods. While we, in Israel, always appreciate the extra precipitation, it caused us to reschedule the tiyul.

Rabbi Steven Berg, the National Director of NCYS, came to speak to us on Tuesday morning. He pointed out to the boys that while their year in Yeshiva is coming to an end, they have a very important job to do at their next home – the college campuses. Rabib Berg urged the guys to get involved in leadership roles in Jewish life on campus. He pointed out that they have the knowledge and the background to perform kiruv. They should teach the unaffiliated Jew the beauty of our religious practices and way of life and they should make a difference on their college campuses.

Our Wednesday night Sicha spot this week was filled by Rav Ari Shames. As he has in the past, Rav Shames spoke to us about the permissibility to ascend Har HaBayit (the Temple Mount) in our day. While not every Rabbi aggress with this position, it is still an important to hear and for those guys that will benefit from such an experience it is truly a memorable one to have had.

This Shabbat is an out Shabbat, with every talmid visiting friends and family outside of the Yeshiva.

Shabbat Shalom
