Rabbi Porath came on aliyah with his family from Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in Neve Daniel, Israel. He attended Neve Shmuel Yeshiva High School and the Karnei Shomron Hesder Yeshiva during which he served in the Nachal infantry unit during his army service. Rabbi Porath holds a B.Ed. in educational counseling, a teaching certificate, and has Semicha from Yeshivat HaMivtar, Rabbi Riskin, Rabbi Brovender and Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. Served the last three years as the OUJLIC Torah Educators, Rutgers University.
